How to Make Archives in 2 Steps
Want to create your own archive (zip) files? If you don’t already have archiving software on your PC, there are plenty of reasons to get it. For example, archiving compresses many different files into one smaller file, so it’s easier to email as well as store on your own computer. Archiving also gives you the possibility to encrypt your sensitive files so that only authorized people can have access to them. Sound good? It sure does. So here we go, make your own archives by following these simply steps:
Step 1:
First, find a good archiving software and install it on your PC. The installation process should be quite easy, as the software is usually small and convenient.
Step 2:
Select the files you want to add to an archive, right click and select “add to archive” or “create zip file” (or similar — depending on the software you’re using). Then, when the software asks you, simply select the name of your archive and the location where you want to save it.
Alternatively, you can zip your files in a slightly different way. This is done by opening the archiving program, dragging and dropping the files into the program and then manually saving the archive in your chosen location. Whatever way you do it, it’s easy and efficient, so enjoy!
It’s also quite easy to unzip your files, and just like zipping them, there is more than one way to do it. You can do it by simply clicking “unzip files here” and all the files will unzip into a folder. Or, you can double click on the archive and drag-and-drop the files into whatever folder you want!
Now that you know how to create archives, why don’t you grab the software
